Samsung S7350 Ultra s

A new 5.0 megapixel camera phone from the Samsung camp has now been launched on T-Mobile in the UK, the Classico is also known by its model number as the Samsung S7350 is a sleek sliding handset encased in a brushed metal housing.

Samsung UltraS s7350 may seem like just any ordinary slider phone from Samsung. In fact, it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles a lot of people look for a new phone nowadays (like WiFi, etc). However, the S7350 has some unique features I’ve only seen in this handset. The handset’s construction is made up of plastic with the face mostly made from brushed aluminum in black and silver that gives it an elegant look. At 12mm thick, it’s actually slim for a slider phone. The slide mechanism is also smooth and snappy.

The display screen is 2.6 inches (240×400 pixels, 16M colors) and comes with an accelerometer so photos are re-oriented in landscape mode automatically. In the landscape mode, photos can be also scrolled forward or back just by tilting the phone to the left or right.

The UI is simple and fast with no apparent lags when navigating across menus. There’s also a Custom Menu that you can populate with shortcuts to most-frequently used functions.

There are several nice built-in features in this phone.
Music Recognition - the S7250 has a built-in feature that allows you to record a few seconds of a song, sends it to the servers and returns the title of the song. I believe several other models of Samsung has this pre-installed and works in conjunction with Shazam. The only problem is that it’s not pre-configured out of the box.

Etiquette Pause - if you turn over the phone, the current sound is temporarily muted (while the sound profile remains the same). Only works for calls and SMS but not when playing music and if you flip it back up, it is still muted. Great for when on a meeting or conference.

Fake Call Voice - great when you want to scramble and get out from a bad date. Activate fake call, set a short cut key, and presto. You can even pre-record a voice message so there’s a fake caller talking on the other end.

The 5-megapixel autofocus camera takes some good pictures. The LED flash though is a little weak and doesn’t help if the subject is not within a couple of feet. The camera also captures pretty decent video footage at 30fps and resolution of up to 720×480 pixels (there’s still some horizontal pixelation in the mpeg4 output but the video is smooth because of the fast frame rate).

The speakers, found at the top front side, is pretty loud and crisp but cranking up the volume leaves the bass lacking in umph. The phone is capable of multi-tasking so you can do other stuff while leaving the music player running.

There’s no WiFi, just HSDPA 7.2Mbps so that could turf off a lot of people. There’s a GPS receiver that works very well with the pre-installed Google Maps for Mobile.

Nokia 3720 Classic

Some new info on the Nokia’s new cellphone called 3720 has been leaked. 3720 will be water and shock proof, which would mean that Nokia will also take account of the development of tough phones.Nokia would be in this case to compete with Samsung and other Sonim already released phones that are robust against can. Samsung brought before the B2100 and B2700 from Xplorer. Phones that are very suitable for people in the building, because they are protected against shocks, dust and water. Sonim - that focuses on this kind of tough phones - made in December last year from the XP3 Enduro.

Far from being rival of the new N97, the Nokia 3720 Classic has an important promise to bring with them: the indestructibility. The video speaks for itself: there is no fall, or blow the liquid that the device can not resist. If it is not obviously the case to verify the absolute validity of this definition, the certainty is the fact of having mobile phone able to withstand water and shock, moving beyond the concept of duration of your device, and can count in this quality and experience of Nokia.

Is not recourse to the bottom: large TFT display 2.2 inches with QVGA resolution, capable of displaying up to 16 million colors, 2 megapixel camera with LED flash can also be used as flashlight in case you is ambient light, multimedia player for playback of audio and video files, handy Stereo radio, standard 2.5 mm headphone jack, Bluetooth connectivity and microUSB port for connection to PC to synchronize data.

Long duration battery, dual color black / yellow, Nokia Maps Preloaded (and therefore any GPS functionality via external antenna), possibility of external memory slot up to 8GB), support for Windows Live with Windows Live Messenger preinstalled. Everything started with clear promotional videos based on ‘Done to last. ” An alternative placement, then, for product that will certainly, however, their place. Does not take much space to the Nokia N97 fact, emphasizing the alternativ.

The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic supports 60 languages worldwide, which covers nearly 90 percent of the world's population. As people around the world use their phones in different ways, the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic offers a variety of input methods including a virtual alphanumeric keypad, a virtual computer-style QWERTY keyboard, a pen stylus -- and for true music enthusiasts, a plectrum -- are all available.

Nokia 5630 XpressMusic

The Nokia 5630 XpressMusic has been announced silently. Nevertheless, Nokia don’t need to hide the 5630 XpressMusic as it offers some nice features. Let’s take a clover look at the device. As all devices form the XpressMusic range also the 5630 is built out of plastic and you als can feel it when holding it in the hand. Nothing special about the built quality to mention. However, it feels solid but sometimes the housing creaks a little bit.

In terms of memory the 5630 has 74MB of internal memory and comes with a 4GB microSD card. Of course you can expand the memory to up to 16GB. 4GB are enough for more than 800 songs. The 2.2” screen has a QVGA (240 x 320 pixels) resolution and displays 16 million colours. Unfortunately it’s only 2.2” instead of 2.4” which is more common nowadays. So, viewing images, videos or web pages isn’t as good as on bigger screens. Anyway, it’s really bright, the contrast is fine.

As the name already hints the main focus is without a doubt the music function. Like all mp3 players also the 5630 has a standard 3.5mm audio jack on the top. So you can use pretty much all headsets you like. More over, the volume toggle as well as the dedicated music keys make it easy to control the musicplayer. The music player is the standard player you can find on all S60 devices. However, saying that it’s standard doesn’t mean that it’s nothing special. You can browse your song by artists, albums, genre or composers. Of course you can see all songs, podcast or the most played or recent added songs. If you wish, you can search music also using the ‘Music search’. Just say a title or artist and it will search the song and playback it. Once opened a song you see title, artist, the progress bar, music buttons and a album art (if available). This albumart is, however pretty small although there is enough room for a bigger album art. As already mentioned you can control the song via the dedicated music keys or using the d-pad. Creating a playlist, choosing between six different equaliser modes, creating a new equaliser mode or turning the shuffle mode on and off are no problem at all. If you like to playback the music via the speaker you can do it of course.

On the back of the device we have a standard 3.2 megapixel camera without autofocus. This camera matches to the overall feeling of the 5630. It’s a midtier handset for someone who doesn’t needs the latest technology. Next to the camera lens there are the two LEDs for better pictures in low light conditions. Pressing and holding the camera button for three seconds the camera applications starts and you are ready to go.

GSM, WCDMA, GPRS, HSDPA and HSUPA, these are the supported frequency and data bands. More over it supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0 and also microUSB 2.0. All connections worked fine. Moving a 100MB big file took 1 minute and 34 seconds. You can charge it also via USB cable on the PC. With WiFi or 3G you can start surfing the web. However, due to the small display you need to scroll and zoom quite a lot. Nevertheless, the browser works really good, displays the websites like on the desktop and shows also flash content, like youtube, without problems. If you like to create and retrieve e-mails you can use either the simple client or install Nokia messaging. Why cannot Nokia install it and why does the user need to install it? Anyways, creating a email account is really easy. You just need to enter your email address as well as the password. However, that doesn’t work with little domains like symbianworld.org or other private domains.

The 5630 XpressMusic also comes with several internet based applications like Facebook, MSN, My space or share online. Share online allows to upload data to services like Flickr, Ovi or Vox.

In terms of business abilities it’s offering a fully functional calendar, a Zip application, notes, converter, Adobe PDF, calculator, a dictionary and a viewer for office files like word, exel and power point. These files, however, cannot be edited. If you wish to do so you need to upgrade your version wish isn’ for free.

Sony Ericsson K850i

The Sony Ericsson K850i really is an amazing improvement to the Sony Ericsson K800i which was launched at February last year. Not only on the area of the camera, but also on the area of new functions, keys, lights and tricks. Of course, the 5 megaixel camera is new. Sony Ericsson chose for another finish of the lence with the K850i. The lense is automatically hidden behind a lense cover at the exact moment when the camera is not used anymore. When using the camera, the lense is enlighted by blue or green (depends on the colour of the device) led lights, which offers an extingiushed effect. Besides a different camera and a totally different usage, the device is also equipped with BestPic (which makes a series of photos out of which the user can choose the best), Photo Fix (which helps the user to make the best photos) and PictBridge support for immediate printing of photos on a printer.

Where earlier models only had UMTS support, the K850i also offers HSDPA support. That is no unneeded luxury with 5 megapixel photos. With speeds up to 1.8 Mbit per second, the user can send his self-made photos, which are more than a half a megabyte big, easily by e-mail or place them directly on a weblog or online photo album.

The K850i hides a lot of multimedia functions behind its camera. The device is equipped woth a new media browser where all stored media, such as photos, videos, music and podcasts, can be opened, played or viewed, all with only one press on the button in the menu.

The Sony Ericsson K850i also received an intelligent search functions. With this, photos can be viewed from month to month, photos can be viewed as a thumbnail or full-screen. Sony Ericsson has not changed anything to the display when the first Cybershot phone reached the markets last year. The K850i namely has a 2.2 inch display with a QVGA resolution (240 x 320 pixels) and it offers 262.000 colours. Despite of this fact, the displays of Sony Ericsson phones remain one of the most clear and sharp displays on the market.

Something that direcly caught our eye is that the K850 offers a lot of keys, panels and hidden lights, which present one or more functions of the device. Really special are the three touch-sensitive quick keys underneath the display, which form the quick keys for menu navigation, selecting, going back etc. We had to get used to this way of navigating at first, but Sony Ericsson promises that the user does not want anything else after a few hours.

The K850 mainly is a phone, but the implementation of the keys and panels give the device a real camera appearance. Due to its looks and possibilities, the digital camera will now really find its competitor of the phone, because the owner of the K850i absolutely does not need a digital camera anymore.

The functionality of the K850i can be described as unending. Lovers of the Sony Ericsson K850i will have to wait a little while for the device to reach the market, for it will be in the shops round Octobre. Untill this time, the K810i, which recently reached the market, can prove its worth for Sony Ericsson.

Samsung SGH-D880 Dual Sim

General Mobile has with the Black Hill DST11 a mobile phone with the possibility equal to 2 SIM cards inserted successfully in the marketplace. This equipment feature gives the user the opportunity, for example, a private business and its SIM card in the same cell phone use. The success of General Mobile electronics giant Samsung can not rest - with the result that in South Korea when a dual SIM-Phone was developed. The amount of equipment is abundant. What is missing at the first glance nothing. A 3-MP camera with extensive photo and video capabilities, an MP3 player, memory expansion via Micro SD cards, a comprehensive, contact management, calendars and notebooks with integrated function. How the dual SIM mobile phone, in practice, read in the following test.

Processing feature:
1. The first impression of optical / special features to support the design - simple acting slider phone with rectangular display and slightly back with rubber structure.

2. Housing material / surface quality - Plastic with soft and rounded forms.

3. Quality of the keys - Plastic keys with buttons and boundaries of the steady pressure point.

4. Quality (sharpness / resolution) of the display - TFT display with 242,166 colors and a resolution of 176x144 pixels, the display of colors does slightly pale, but the sharpness is high, without seeming unnatural.

5. Implementation of the folding or sliding - unstable-looking slider mechanism, which already use after a short game to get right and left.

6. Quality of the battery cover - Plastic battery compartment cover easily gummed, with very good fit.

7. The quality and extent of the accessories supplied - Manual, charger, headset, USB cable, software.

8. Conclusion - The timeless look of sliders, with a slightly rubberized plastic, medium-weight and handy forms speak for the SGH-D880. The plastic keys comes with steady pressure point. The TFT display, with its 242,166 colors, images and videos sharp, but a little pale dar. The sliding effect at first glance stable, but still gets short time playing to the right and left. The battery compartment cover is fit.

Motorola Razr2 V8

The first thing that most people will notice on the RAZR2 V8 is the very large external display - this is a 2" 240x320 pixel panel which is possibly the largest external display we've ever seen. Another clever feature is that the screen is touch-sensitive, meaning that media playback can be controlled by touching the softkeys on the screen. The external display has been chemically hardened to protect it.

Open the Motorola RAZR2 V8 up and you'll find a 2.2" 240x320 pixel main panel and the familiar RAZR-style keypad. The camera is a little disappointing - the RAZR2 V8 only comes with a 2 megapixel unit which is less than we'd expect from an advanced multimedia device such as this. Video capture is just 176x144 pixels which again means that this isn't a particularly great camera phone.

Of course, the RAZR2 V8 is a multimedia device that can play back a wide variety of audio and video clips. The V8 has a whopping 420MB of internal memory available to the user, and there is an optional 2GB version too. On drawback is that the V8 has no expandable memory. Stereo playback is either by a wired headset or stereo Bluetooth.

There's a pretty comprehensive software suite on the RAZR2 V8, including a web browser, email client and a new user interface. There are some improvements elsewhere too - Motorola have worked on call quality and are also using "haptics" to provide tactile feedback on the external display, audio prompts for menus and a whole range of other usability improvements.

The battery life on the RAZR2 V8 is very impressive, with up to 8 hours talktime. The V8 supports EDGE data as well as GPRS, but not 3G (the RAZR2 V9 is a 3G variant). There is also a CDMA/EVDO version called the RAZR2 V9m.

This is definitely not the original RAZR in any respect - but it shares the same styling and that is probably the biggest drawback. It is very disappointing to see that Motorola didn't try a fresh approach when it come to cosmetics and it's quite possible that many consumers will not understand just how different the RAZR2 V8 is underneath.

Motorola RIZR Z8

The Motorola RIZR Z8, termed the ‘multimedia monster’ by Ed Zander (CEO of Motorola), is one of this year's stand out handsets. The Z8 is an intriguing mix of high style and high tech, marrying good, though not top end, specifications with a stand-out design.

Running on UIQ 3.1 on top of Symbian 9.2, it has a state of the art smartphone software platform and is the first ever non-touchscreen UIQ phone. However, this is only part of its appeal, since in its positioning and marketing the Z8 moves away from the traditional smartphone offering and instead attempts to create a compelling, consumer focused, multimedia experience, led by stellar video features. The Z8 is the first Symbian OS phone from Motorola since the A1010 (released as the M1000 in Japan), which was announced at 3GSM in 2005. This is a significant gap and during most of 2005 and 2006 the majority of people assumed Motorola had abandoned Symbian. The news of the Z8 at 3GSM in 2007 was a surprise to many. It also represented something of a shift in strategy for Motorola. Previous Motorola UIQ phones has been aimed at small market niches for specific operators (the A920, A925 and A1000 were only widely available on the 3 network). Their pen-based input and large size limited the addressable market.

The Z8, by contrast, while still a high end phone, is aimed at a much larger market. It is a style conscious, video-focussed multimedia phone (you’ll not hear the word smartphone mentioned in the marketing). With its smaller size and one-handed usage model, it is much more attractive to the general consumer. The Z8 represents a renewed effort by Motorola to enter the lucrative high end European market and it is likely the first in a family of products. As such, strategically, it is a very important product for Motorola. In this multi-part review we’ll take an in-depth look at this unique Symbian OS-based phone.

The first thing you notice about the Z8 is its distinctive design. Its kick-slider form factor (which gives the Z8 its 'banana' nick name), which sees the phone bend as you open the slide, is unique. Motorola says that this is intended to help shape the phone to your face and it is true that it does this, but, honestly, I think it is just as much about having an innovative design that stands out.

The first few times you see the opening action, it looks like the phone has broken, and it certainly attracts a lot of attention. I thought it might prove to be a bit fragile, but the mechanism seems well built and it should stand up to day to day use.

The all black casing with yellow coloured highlights is also effective. The bright yellow colour may not appeal to all, but I imagine there’ll be a number of colour variants available before too long (a white version has already been seen in various presentations). The casing is made of hard, high quality plastic based materials. There is a rubbery, black material on the sides and back with some shiny, metallic silver plastic highlights surrounding the 2 megapixel camera and accompanying LED flash. One side of the surround clips off to reveal the SIM card slot; the Z8 is unusual in that you can switch SIM cards without removing the phone's battery (although a reboot is still needed if you switch SIM cards).

On the front, there’s a glossy flat face surrounding the main screen with a small VGA camera for video calling on the upper left. As with many other style conscious phones, the Z8 will need intermittent cleaning to keep it looking at its best because both the front face and the camera surround tend to attract fingerprints.

The 2.2 inch, QVGA, 16 million colour screen is the hardware highlight of the Z8. It provides bright and vibrant pictures with much greater depth and saturation than many other mobile device screens. Outside, the available viewing angle is much reduced, but is easily viewable in all but the very brightest conditions.

Samsung U800

At a Samsung dealer event I had the change to get my hands on the upcoming 5 Megapixel mobile phone; the Samsung G800. The Samsung G800 will be introduced later on this year, at least in the Netherlands, and target the multimedia consumer who is also into mobile imaging. The Samsung G800 is an ultra thin slider mobile phone and show off with a great design. The designer Samsung G800 cam phone has a digicam-like metallic design and features a 5 Megapixel digital camera. The handset is one of Samsung’s top models and has to bring Samsung into the high resolution market for mobile phones. This segment is interesting for the manufacturer, the consumer is willing to pay some extras for mobile image quality.t is kind of strange that we focus already on the new Samsung G800 while the G600 handset still has to become available for the consumer - at least for the Dutch consumer. However mobile phone developments can’t be slowed down so we just go with the mobile flow. The Samsung G800 is equipped with a ultra small card slot with microSD and microSDHC flash memory support; 4GB microSDHC will give you the ultimate storage solution. The brand new SanDisk microSDHC 8GB may also find its way into the Samsung G800; we assume this high storage capacity card will also be supported by the Samsung G800.

To bad I was not able the shoot some product shots of the camera due to the security label attached to the front side. Samsung G800 specifications learn us that the sensor offers 5 Megapixel resolution. Of course it is not only about the pixels, as we have seen for many years with the digital camera megapixel race. Internal processing software, image processor, pixel quality, sensitivity range and noise, effective flash range, stabilisation technology, etc. that will take the Samsung G800 right into the top of Mobile Photography or drop it like a stone when those features are not well enough developed. As soon as we receive a full production model of we publish a Samsung G800 review.

Mobile TV is a reality today and moving towards mass market. But in order for this “killer application” to reach its full potential, cost-effective means of increasing capacity and introducing innovative new services are necessary. Mobile TV services of the future will be delivered over a combination of unicast and broadcast-capable networks. The Samsung G800 is ready for mobile television by supporting HSDPA connectivity next to the standard GPRS and EDGE. Mobile Television involves bringing TV services to the mobile phones. It combines the services of a mobile phone with television content and represents a logical step both for consumers and operators and content providers. The Samsung G800 is ready to become Samsung’s all-round multimedia player.

Samsung Star S5230

Samsung’s Star (S5230) is the perfect Touch screen mobile. This phone heats up the competition between mid rage touch-screen mobile phones.

Thumbs up for :
1.Including the Accelerometer feature in a mid range mobile.
2. Its Smart TouchWhiz interface.
3.The handwriting recognition feature is pretty accurate.
4. Smile Detection feature
5.This device could give your portable music player a run for its money.
6.Squeezing in all these features for a decent price.

Thumbs Down for :
1. Even a low range mobile now comes with 3G enabled.I don’t know why Samsung missed out this.
2.No auto focus feature in the camera.
3.Excluding GPS , makes this phone an incomplete touch screen mobile. (May be its low price is one of the reason for this ).

Design :
Samsung star (s5230) has a slim and sleek design which deceives us from its low price tag . This sleek beauty hosts a 3 inch display with a 240 x 300 pixels resolution. Below this display we have three buttons one acts as a back button and other two as a call receiver buttons.

Interface :
The TouchWhiz interface of this phone is smart enough to respond to your touches and taps pretty quickly. The best part about its interface is the widgets,Widgets makes the navigation more easy.More interestingly,it supports scrollable home screen ,it means that you can have upto three customizable home screens (like you have workspaces in ubuntu OS). This phone also sports a 3D photo contacts view .which gives you a scrollable photo contacts like you see in the pic below.

Music Player :
This phone has a good Music player with a good music library. The music player can also be minimized to play in the background.you can also include a dedicated music widget in the home screen to access it at your will easily. The phone gives a good surround sound effect.with its 16GB external memory , this phone could give your portable Music player a run for its money.

Camera :
This touch screen mobile from samsung houses a 3Mp camera with smile detection feature. This phone is smart enough to wait until a person smiles and as soon as person does, it snaps a photo. The real let down when it comes to camera, is the absence of auto focus feature and also its poor video recording quality.

Surprise elements :
The surprise element in this phone is the gesture lock, which enables users to simultaneously unlock the phone and open a menu item or an application, or even dial a contact, just by drawing an alphabet letter on the unlock screen.

Samsung S7330 Soul

The samsung Soul is a famous phone. But samsung has announced this phone as Soul junior. I don’t know what the similarity is because this phone is not similar to old samsung Soul. Any how this is a great phone and it has unusual look.

The latest incarnation - Samsung S7330 - packs in stylish exterior, well-rounded feature set and a moderate price tag. And what sounds like a good recipe already is spiced up by the yet exotic touchpad. No news so far, but knowing what to expect can actually turn hard on the S7330. Users will feel entitled to more than passable performance, so let's see if it delivers.

The S7330 may as well be noteworthy for marking a shift in the Samsung naming patterns. It is the first model by the South Korean manufacturer with a four-digit model designation (the rugged B2700, M3510 Beat and 8510 INNOV8 follow suit).
Samsung S7330 is clearly in for quite a challenge. The price tag will be decisive here, and we can't ignore the fact that at 300 US dollars price point users can go for a juicier spec sheet. Anyway, it's more than obvious that the slick Soul exterior is a strong enough selling point. We're back exploring it after the jump.

All features:
• 3G with HSDPA support
• Quad-band GSM support, usable worldwide
• Touchpad navigation
• 2.2" 262K-color QVGA display
• 3 megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash
• 35MB of user memory, microSD expansion

Nokia 5310 XpressMusic

The following is my super quick review of Jennifer's Nokia 5310 XpressMusic feature phone, her main mobile for the past couple of weeks.

The Good
- Very thin (9.9mm) and light (71g).
- Sync'able address book, calendar, task list and memos with Outlook.
- Above average speakers.
- A light sensor automatically adjusts the screen's brightness.
- Dedicated TI AIC33 sound processor providing sound quality that is actually better than even some branded dedicated digital music player.
- Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP profile, ruh ruh Apple? Sony's BT10CX bluetooth stereo headphones works great with this.
- Comes with 2GB microSD card.
- microSD card slot is compatible with high capacity microSDHC - works with 8GB card, possibly 16GB, also hot-swappable.
- Stereo FM works well, but requires to be connected to Nokia's headphone adapter.
- Industrial standard 3.5mm headphone socket ensures compatibility with our Sennheiser phones - they even placed it on the top, which is ergonomically the ideal position!
- Support for USB mass storage (yay!).

The Average
- Industrial standard microUSB port is better than Pop-Port, but the prolific miniUSB is even better.
- Series 40 5th edition is speedy and user friendly, but I wish for a Series 60 version.
- Youth orientated design may not appeal to all.
- Battery life is average lasting 2-3 days per charge with light text, calls and music playback.

Verdict
- Utterly desirable and skinny mobile for people seeking a budget quality music phone. It isn't perfect, but at the price point the 5310 beats even more expensive phones in terms of audio fidelity and features. The 3.5mm port shows where Nokia's priority lies especially in an age where other manufacturers like Sony Ericsson are still keen to promote their proprietary ports.

Update: The 5310 XpressMusic has been selected as the first Nokia phone to qualify under their Come With Music program. I think it is an excellent choice considering how great the 5310 is as a music player.

Nokia 7310 Supernova

Nokia is after some time and has finally woken up again an attractive model range. With different colored shells can exchange their mobile phone as an individual look miss (our test model in steel blue with Candy-pink coloured Xpress-On cover, also available in wasabi green). Other colours will follow. But the slim, attractive design, the 2 megapixel camera with 8x digital zoom, the FM radio and MP3 player speak for the 7310 supernova. We are curious to see what else it has to offer and it was better under the microscope.

Mobile Features:
1. Camera equipment: 2 megapixels with 8fachem digital zoom, self-timer: 3.5 or 10 sec; portrait format, brightness, night mode, frame; effects: normal, gray, sepia or negative; WB: automatic, daylight, tungsten, fluorescent light, horizon; image quality: good Normally, simple; size of the image: 1200x1600, 1024x1280, 960x1280, 480x640, 240x320, 120x160; preview period: no preview, 3,5,10 sec or manually halted; camera noise: On / Off; Standard Title: My automatically or title; Memory choice: phone memory, memory card or other folders (photos on the TV watch - TV cable optional).

2. Camera quality: Right good results for a 2 MP camera in bright light and normal lighting conditions. In the darkness, the supernova not scored since neither light nor night photo mode available.

3. Video camera equipment: Playback of 3GPP and MPEG4 formats; length of the video clip: Standart maximum; video quality: good, normal, easy video Resolution: 176x144, 128x96; microphone; brightness, portrait, effects and WB as camera settings.

4. Video quality: In general, fairly good results depending on the desired clip default. For faster movements are visible light cloud pixels, but with a steady hand for little. No video exists and therefore light in the dark and / or in low light very strong quality restrictions and therefore no results.

5. Facilities of the built-in music player: Format: Midi, MP3, MP4, AAC, AAC +, eAAC +, WMA, forward, rewind, pause, stop, music menu: All titles, title lists, artists, albums, genres, videos, to add title; settings: Shuffle: /; Repeat: current title of all titles; equaliser: normal, pop, rock, jazz, classical, Group 1, Group 2; music player desktop standard, Blue moon; downloads, sound, playing via Bluetooth

6. Sound quality of the music player: About quality can certainly be in this MP3 player. The sound is - without exaggeration - a delight for the ear, especially when you have price compares class counterparts. Using the built-in EQ can be quite effective adjustments. When using the Headphones as well as the use of the built-in, clearly playing over loudspeakers the 7310 supernova positive.

7. Radio yes / no, sound quality radio: Off Save, the transmitter (station list), all broadcasters are looking for, frequency, settings: RDS to / from, automatic. Frequency, loudspeakers, Mono/Stereo edition, radio theme: Standard, Blue Moon; depending on the orientation the antenna, rather noise playback.

8. Further facilities: PTT function, download (content search, purchase and download), Opera Mini (Google), search, calculator, world time, WidSets (information), Yahoo! Go, 4 entertaining games (backgammon, Seasweeper, Snake 3, Sudoku).

9. Storage capacity: 32 MB of internal data for users; expandable up to 4 GB with micro-SD memory cards. In the test: San Disk 1, 2 and 4 GB. All tickets were easily imported from the supernova.

10. Conclusion: Very good camera and video equipment with excellent results. Similarly, the ease of use of radio and MP3 player, with great results scored. For the entertainment, thanks to the 4 varied games. The storage capacity is only 32MB internally. This can be done with a Micro SD memory card to be upgraded to 4GB.

The phone, equipped with 5.0 Megapixel camera, also records video at up to 120 frames per second, the highest frame speed ever for a handset camera, which can be edited and uploaded directly to YouTube. A 3.0-inch touch screen and Mobile XD engine provide a wider and more vivid display while a jog wheel on the back maximizes usability. An attached stylus allows users to digitally "write" on photos and edit files.

The phone's Smart Camera has a startup time about one second, image stabilization, LED flash and red eye reduction. Nokia 5130 XpressMusic

Nokia 5130 XpressMusic measures 107.5 x 46.7 x 14.8 mm and weighs 88 grams with the battery. The phone is covered with shiny plastic which looks really great but is prone to get covered with fingerprints quite fast. On the front of the Nokia phone you will see the 2” screen displaying 256k colors in 320 x 240 resolution. Below the screen there is the D-pad and a comfy and responsive keypad. The top of the Nokia 5130 XpressMusic houses the standard 3.5m audio jack, microUSB slot and the charger plug, whereas the bottom has no ports, or buttons. The right side of Nokia 5130 XpressMusic houses the microSD memory card slot, whereas the left side houses the dedicated music keys and the lanyard eyelet. The overall impression of the Nokia 5130 XpressMusic’s build quality is very positive.

Nokia 5130 XpressMusic has the standard (a bit old) gallery so do not expect miracles here. The phone has 16 MB of built-in memory, but as it ships with 1 GB memory card in the box you will be able to put some music on the phone right away. Although the manufacturer claims that the Nokia 5130 XpressMusic supports only 2 GB memory cards it seems that it can handle all cards.
The music player in Nokia 5130 XpressMusic its most important feature and here the phone does not disappoint. The music quality is really great and you get a few equalizer presets. Additionally, you can sort the music by artist, album and so on so it is also easy to use. Thanks to the A2DP support you can use stereo Bluetooth earphones, or any other headphones as a matter of fact thanks to the 3.5 mm standard audio jack.

As usual with Nokia phones there are no reception, or in-call sound problems with the Nokia 5130 XpressMusic. The phone has a capacious phonebook which can store up to 2000 contacts with multiple fields for information. The contacts can be organized in groups which can later on be used as call filters. The message editor is simple and setting up your email account takes only a few seconds with most email providers.

Nokia 7210 Supernova

Part of Nokia’s 2008 fashionable line-up of phones, the Nokia 7210 Supernova is a slim candybar that became available in September, in two color versions: Vivid Blue (the one I’m reviewing) and Bubble Gum Pink.

Unlike the other Supernova phones, the 7210 doesn’t come with changeable Xpress-On covers. Instead, it features a pretty cool color transition effect, visible on the left and the right sides of its display. The phone is only 11 millimeters thin (10.6 mm, to be precise) and it somehow resembles the 5310 XpressMusic, another ultra-slim Nokia candybar. To be honest, I think the 7210 Supernova looks better than the Nokia 7610 Supernova, although the latter is the Supernova flagship. Of course, when it comes to features, 7610 Supernova is better, but that’s another story. Overall, Nokia 7210 Supernova has a simple look, mainly because it has no buttons on the sides whatsoever. It only has a charger connector on the left side and, on the top, a 2.5mm Nokia AV connector, a Micro USB port and a backcover-release key. The back of the phone is also simple, with a 2MP camera and a loudspeaker. The keypad of Nokia 7210 Supernova may look cool, but it’s kind of hard to get used to. It has rubber-like stripes between the keys, which really don’t help when you are typing something. I believe it would have been better if Nokia had opted for an entirely-flat keypad, but that’s just my opinion. Anyway, some might find the keypad to suit their fingers perfectly, but only if they don’t have large thumbs.

The display of Nokia 7210 Supernova is among its best features. It’s only a 2-inch one, but it has 320 x 240 pixels and supports 256K colors, so the images and animations look good. Even more, I’ve noticed that, under the sunlight, the display of 7210 offers a better image quality than the display of the 7610 Supernova flagship.

The music player of Nokia 7210 Supernova can play MP3, AAC, WMA and MIDI files. It won’t stun anyone with its aspect, but it’s cool that it can run in the background. An equalizer is also featured, to let you choose the sound style you like best. Unfortunately, the phone has no dedicated volume keys, and I really don’t understand why Nokia didn’t include them. To let us make use of that 2.5mm jack right away, Nokia offers a pair of headsets with the 7210 Supernova. They’re nothing great in terms of sound quality, but I didn’t expect them to be anyway. The headsets also function as an FM radio antenna, so whenever you want to listen to the radio (which has RDS, by the way), you have to insert them into the above-mentioned 2.5mm jack. The 2 Megapixel camera packed in Nokia 7210 Supernova doesn’t have autofocus or flash. However, the outdoor photos are not that bad, and I think most of the users will be quite happy with their quality (considering the phone’s price, of course). A not so great thing is that there’s no dedicated camera button. Also, the camera is kind of slow: every time you take a picture, you have to wait about 5-6 seconds for the phone to save it, and that’s not quite cool. The phone can also record video at 176 x 144 pixels and 15 fps, but the resulted videos are obviously of poor quality.

Nokia 7210 Supernova has a built-in memory of 30MB, but you can use only slightly over 20MB. The phone’s package doesn’t include a MicroSD card, but, if you want to, you can install cards of up to 2GB. Note that you need to take off the phone’s back cover in order to insert a card.

The battery of 7210 Supernova is a BL-4CT one. Theoretically, it’s said to last up to 2 hours in talk time or up to 250 hours in stand by time. I’ve found these values to be pretty close to the truth, which means that a regular user will have to recharge the phone once in 2-3 days.
